Epoxy coating

We clean, dry and brush coat your drain.

After cleaning your pipe, we dry and prepare it. We apply epoxy with brush tools sized to your drain, building up coats on its inside wall.

We follow the cure schedule of the product system used on your job. The coating leaves a smooth, corrosion-resistant surface inside your existing pipe; it does not form a separate structural tube.

We coat your branches, bends and smaller runs.

Your tight bends and short branch lines can be easier to coat than to line with a continuous felt tube. Your pipe's diameter and access determine whether coating, CIPP or both fit each section.

We inspect your accessible branches and connections before we recommend coating one section and lining another.

We can line your main sewer and coat its branches.

Your main sewer run may need a structural cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner while its smaller branches need brush coating for corrosion protection. On our Charlestown and Back Bay projects, we lined the main line and coated the branches whose condition suited a coating.

We choose by the role of each section of your pipe. A continuous liner renews a longer main run, and our brush application reaches the smaller or more complex sections of your drainage system that suit a coating.

We check whether your drain suits a coating and plan your fixture use around it.

If your pipe has collapsed, has severe offsets or lets groundwater in, we cannot coat it until those conditions are repaired another way.

We need clear access to the branch we are coating, and you need a plan for your fixtures while the coats dry and cure. We walk you through that timing when coating is part of your repair.

No. A liner is a cured tube we install inside your pipe. A coating is epoxy we apply to your existing pipe wall. We choose between them from your pipe's diameter, condition and access.

Yes. Your pipe's material, temperature and moisture must suit the epoxy system, and we check them while we plan your coating.

How do you decide the number of coats on my drain?

That depends on your pipe's condition and the product system. We follow the manufacturer's application steps for the epoxy we use on your line.
