Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to learn about our sewer work and reach us. This page explains what we have built into the site, the settings you can change, where the site still falls short and how to tell us about a problem.
Our commitment
Boston Pipelining Company wants every visitor to be able to read about our sewer camera inspection, cleaning and lining work and to contact us, whether you use a keyboard, a screen reader, screen magnification, voice control or a phone.
We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is our goal and the standard we test against. The site has not been certified by an outside organization, and we do not claim that every page meets every guideline.
This statement is effective October 14, 2026. We will update it when we make significant changes to the site.
Settings you can change
Select the Settings button with the accessibility icon in the lower left corner of any page to open the accessibility and cookie settings. Your choices are saved in your browser only and apply to every page until you change them or select Reset.
The same panel has a Cookie preferences button and a link back to this statement.
- Text size: four steps from small to extra large, including the large page headings.
- Text spacing: more space between lines, paragraphs, letters and words.
- Readable font: a highly legible typeface in normal capitalization instead of the display capitals.
- Enhanced contrast: brighter text, solid backgrounds behind text on photographs and stronger borders.
- Underline links, and Highlight links and buttons: make every link and control easy to find.
- Enhanced focus indicator: a larger white and red outline around the item that has keyboard focus.
- Large cursor and Reading guide: a bigger pointer, and a band that follows your mouse or keyboard focus to help you keep your place.
- Motion and Pause animations: stop the light streaks, embers, scroll effects and other movement.
What works across the site
These features are built into every public page, whether or not you change a setting.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard. A Skip to main content link is the first item on each page, and menus, the before and after comparison, question lists and dialogs open, close and return focus as expected.
- The site follows your device setting for reduced motion. Decorative animation stops, and nothing on the site depends on motion to be understood.
- Our job videos play without sound and have a visible pause control. They show a still frame when motion is reduced. They contain no speech, so they do not need captions; the text beside each video explains the work.
- Photographs and illustrations have text descriptions for screen readers. Renderings and illustrations are labeled so they are not mistaken for photographs of our jobs.
- Pages are built to reflow on phones and when zoomed to 200 percent, and forms have visible labels with errors described in text.
Known limitations
We know some parts of the site do not yet meet our goal. We are working through them and would rather tell you than leave you guessing.
- Some older articles were carried over from our previous website. Their headings, formatting and image descriptions may not meet the same standard as newer pages while we review them.
- Content embedded from other companies, such as maps or videos hosted elsewhere, follows that provider’s accessibility and may not respond to the settings on this site.
- The settings panel changes this website only. It does not replace the accessibility features of your browser or device.
- Allow motion in the panel cannot turn animation back on when your device asks for reduced motion. Your device setting wins.
- Your settings are stored in this browser. If you clear site data or switch browsers or devices, you will need to choose them again.
