Weymouth has worked on leaks into its sewers since 1985.
Weymouth is an MWRA sewer community. The town’s sewer page says its flow enters the MWRA system at 11 locations and travels to the Deer Island treatment plant, and that the DPW commissioned an infiltration and inflow analysis in 1985 after finding large amounts of rainwater and groundwater entering its sewers.
