Scituate trenchless sewer repair
We record cracked joints and open seams in your Scituate sewer and tell you which ones a liner can cover. If you plan to sell, we also tell you what the town requires for clay and cast iron services before you choose a repair.

Cracks and joints
We show you which cracks and joints in your Scituate sewer a liner can cover.
A liner covers cracks, open joints and root entry points in your pipe while it still holds its shape. It cures as one continuous wall along the lined run, so each joint in that run is sealed over by the same tube.
A crack that has let your pipe deform, a broken section or a sag is different. Our camera shows the shape of your pipe at each joint, so you see which cracks we can line and which need a spot repair first.
Liner suits. Cracks and open joints in your pipe while it holds its shape.
Spot repair first. A broken section, a deformed pipe or a collapse.
Before a sale. Scituate’s rule for clay and cast iron services applies.

Scituate sewer rules
Scituate requires clay and cast iron sewer services to be replaced before a sale.
Scituate runs its own sewer system and is not an MWRA sewer community. The town’s sewer FAQ says the town system begins at the lateral connection at the property line, so your sewer on private land is yours. Its sewer division flyer says the town requires private sewer services built of clay, cast iron or asbestos concrete to be replaced before a property is sold or transferred, by a drainlayer licensed by the Town of Scituate.
That flyer recommends PVC and does not mention lining. If you plan to sell your Scituate home, ask the town’s Sewer Division whether a lined service meets its requirement before you choose a repair. If you are staying and your clay or cast iron joints are cracked, our recording shows whether a liner suits your pipe.
Slide across each pipe to see cracks and joints before and after lining.
Each pair shows the same pipe, damaged and then lined.

We line scaled cast iron after we clean it to the wall.Scale hides cracks. We clean it off so your recording shows each one before we line it.

Your lateral gets one continuous wall from end to end.The joints along your lined run are covered by the same cured tube.
We find these cracks and joint problems in Scituate sewers.
Each card shows a finding and whether our liner covers it.
Before lining
Your clay hub has cracked open.
We line over the crack when your hub and the pipe around it still hold their shape.
Camera inspection
Roots are coming through an open joint.
We cut the roots out and line the joint closed.
Camera inspection
A joint has slipped out of line.
We line a small offset our camera can pass; a larger one gets a spot repair.
Camera inspectionSpot repair first
A cracked section has broken in.
We repair that section first, then line the rest of your sewer.
We record and line your Scituate sewer in five steps.

We record each joint along your sewer.
We note each crack, open joint and offset with its distance from your cleanout.
Hydro jetting
We clean out roots and scale.
A clean wall shows the full length of each crack and lets your liner seat.

We install your liner over the cracked run.
We invert the liner from your access point so it presses against each crack and joint.
Curing the liner
We cure your liner into one continuous wall.
The joints and cracks along the lined run are sealed over by the cured tube.

We record the lined run for you.
You see the same joints covered on the final recording.
Our Dorchester job
We lined a cracked, rooted clay lateral under a Dorchester slab.
Our camera found fractures, scale and roots in the clay lateral beneath a Dorchester basement slab. We jetted it, measured the run and lined it with one continuous wall over the cracked joints.
That job is in Boston, not in Scituate. It shows what our liner does to a clay pipe with open joints.
Owners describe how we explained their cracked sewers.
Our customers rate us 5.0 out of 5 from 56 Google reviews.
Travis and his team were excellent to work with. We had a several cracks in our sewer line and Travis came out to camera the line, advised us on the best path forward (we had to complete a spot repair for a collapsed area prior to lining). The quote was sent in a timely manner, all questions were answered completely, they arrived on time and worked efficiently. I couldn’t recommend the team more.
Kim D.Google review, Travis Trott and his team did a fast efficient job lining our pipe! They were kind and helpful fully explaining the process. We will be happy to recommend Boston Pipe to everyone!

Will lining satisfy Scituate’s replacement rule when I sell?
We do not assume so. Scituate’s flyer calls for replacing clay, cast iron and asbestos concrete services before a sale and recommends PVC. Confirm with the Sewer Division before you plan a repair around your sale.
Which cracks can your liner cover?
Cracks and open joints in a pipe that still holds its shape. A crack that has let your pipe deform, or a broken section, needs a spot repair before we line the rest.
What permit fee does Scituate charge?
Scituate’s sewer FAQ lists a $50 sewer permit for a residential tie-in and a new $50 permit for a replacement. The Sewer Division confirms current fees for your property.
